Dr. Noah W. Nganga

Is a distinguished Medical Doctor based in Nairobi City, Kenya. His remarkable life story spans from the humble beginnings of Fuchani Village in Bungoma District to the corridors of medical excellence.

Early Life and Education:
Born as the second child in a family of seven, Noah faced the challenges of growing up in a poverty-stricken environment. Despite the hardships, he pursued education with determination, achieving excellent academic results. His journey began with obtaining a Division 1 in the Cambridge School Certificate in 1968. Subsequently, he passed the Advanced Level School Certificate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 1970 before embarking on his medical studies at the University of Nairobi Medical School in 1971.

Medical Career and Achievements:
In 1976, Dr. Nganga became a Medical Doctor and later specialized in Anaesthesia, making significant contributions to the field. He served at the Kenyatta National Hospital for eighteen years, reaching the position of Consultant Anaesthesiologist. Post-retirement in 1994, he focused on anaesthesia practice at The Nairobi Hospital.

Dr. Nganga’s commitment to advancing medical knowledge is evident in his extensive participation in workshops, conferences, and international congresses. His dedication earned him the prestigious Foundation Fellow of the College of Anaesthesiologists of East Central and Southern Africa (FFCANECSA) award in 2021.

Leadership and Community Service:
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Nganga displayed exemplary leadership. He chaired the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) of the Nairobi Hospital and founded the Division of Anaesthesia in 1986. His leadership extended to community service, notably chairing the Board of Management of Ivugwi Secondary School, where he received recognition for his outstanding service.
